In today’s world, making purchases can get complicated. A good example is with soft drinks. In the past, soft drink choices simply included diet or regular formulas and the type of container. Now when you stroll down the soft drink isle in the grocery store, you find several brands, diet or regular formulas, special flavors that have been added, different containers and formulas made with sugar rather than corn syrup or artificial sweetener. This can be overwhelming – it is called decision fatigue.
The same can hold true when purchasing a new bed or mattress. In the past, you shopped for bed size, brand name and price. All major brand mattresses were innerspring. However, today, you have additional purchase options. The sizes still remain the same with twin, full or standard, queen, king and California king. However, there are now more types of mattresses including innerspring, air, memory foam, hybrid (gel infused memory foam) and water beds. Which one is best? There are price ranges in each type, but no one mattress is “best” for everyone. What works best for one person is not necessarily the best for another.
The three most popular beds are latex, memory foam and innerspring mattresses. Latex beds are the most expensive while innersprings are the least expensive, though, they have the shortest lifespan.
According to VoteSocial.net, the top three “ranked memory foam mattresses are the SilverRest Sleep Shop Therapeutic Mattress, Sleep Innovations 10-inch Sure Temp Memory Foam Mattress, Sleep Innovations 12-inch Sure Temp Memory Foam Mattress”. The top latex beds, “include the Savvy Rest Organic Serenity, Bella Sera Nove 3 Organic Mattress, Natura Eco-Brilliance, and Sueno Suerte Natural Rubber Mattress (Comparing Top-Rated Mattresses, 2015).” Lastly, the top innerspring beds include “the Comfort Balance Ellington Plush Mattress, Stearns & Foster Cora Luxury Plush Eurotop Mattress, Beautyrest Recharge ‘Maddyn’ Luxury Firm Queen-Size Mattress Set, Signature Sleep 13 Inch Mattress (Comparing Top-Rated Mattresses, 2015).”
That is why experts recommend that you shop for beds and try them out. Spend 10-15 minutes lying on a mattress in different positions to determine which bed is the most comfortable. Shopping sales is also recommended because price does not always mean the best. Check for warranties and return policies. It is just best to take your time and shop around.
